A mentoring program is now in place to help our members

One of ICHTS' most important missions is to help its junior members develop a successful research career. In order to accomplish this mission, in the recent ICHTSĄŻ leadership meeting held on July 5-6 in Cincinnati, OH, the participants proposed to establish a mentoring program. It was envisioned in the meeting that this program will be established to provide a formal channel through which our young members in their early career development can easily get specific help from the established members. With the overwhelming supports from our senior members, our mentoring program has been developed and is now available to help you.

The mentoring program is divided into three major categories: Research Areas, Career Development Skills, and General Skills. In each category more specific areas/topics are listed. We provide you with names of our senior members who are willing to help. We would like to let you know that these senior members have all developed a successful career in either academia or industry. Thus, they all have lots of things to offer you. More importantly, they are all committed to helping you develop a successful research career.

Nonetheless, the current mentoring program is just a beginning. We will continue to improve the program by adding more mentors and expanding the areas/topics in which our member can get help. Therefore, ideas and comments on how to make this program better and accessible to you, our young members, are greatly appreciated. You may send your suggestions and comments to Xu Feng.
