I. Seasons¡¦ Greeting from President and Board Chair

Dear Friends and Colleagues of ICHTS Community,

On behalf of the ICHTS and its Board of Directors, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We sincerely hope that you and your family will have another successful and productive year in 2012!!!

The ICHTS is a unique community where investigators with Chinese heritage in musculoskeletal medicine and science help each other in career development, research advocacy, and promotion of interests of people with Chinese heritage in clinics, research, and industry.  The ICHTS has become a mature society in terms of its membership and leadership.  Interestingly, this is also reflected by its ¡§teenage¡¨ age of 17.  The ICHTS has began to receive recognitions for its unique values in many major professional societies, such as American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, Orthopaedic Research Society, International Bone and Mineral Society, Chinese Medical Association, and Chinese Orthopaedic Associations.  For example, both American Society for Bone and Mineral Research and Orthopaedic Research Society have expressed interests in working with ICHTS to outreach to musculoskeletal research communities in China and Asia.  Our successful International Conference on Osteoporosis and Bone Research with the Chinese Medical Association, and the International Bone and Mineral Society has been emerged as a major go-to international conference in Asia.

In 2012, we wish to strengthen our community by improving our leadership infrastructure of the Society, enhancing scientific, academic, and translational exchanges within the society and with our partner societies via improved internet portal and infrastructure, promoting career development and involvement of young and woman investigators in the society, developing unique ICHTS Musculoskeletal Summit Workshop, and establishing mutually beneficial and synergistic platforms with our partner societies.

We are looking forward to working for you in 2012.
